(IDEX Online) - Joan Collins, the British stage and screen icon best known as Alexis Carrington Colby in the US 80s soap Dynasty, is selling a selection of her jewels.
A necklace featuring over 60 carats of diamonds will lead the auction at Bonham's in London, where it is expected to fetch between $65,000 and $91,000.
It has a graduated series of brilliant and marquise-cut diamonds, and a scrolling ribbon of step-cut diamonds.
Dame Joan Collins, 87, is offering five pieces from her collection and will donate part of the proceeds to a children's hospice of which she is patron.
She won her a Golden Globe for her Dynasty role, maried five times and was described as "the most beautiful woman in the world".
"The fabulous thing about jewellery is how extraordinary it makes you feel - these pieces of jewellery have brought me so much joy over the years and I felt it was time for others to experience this," she said.
"I am also delighted to support The Shooting Star Children's Hospice through part of the proceeds of the lots."
The other lots are a 1930s diamond brooch (8.60 carats), by Van Cleef & Arpels (estimate $20,000 - $26,000), a diamond collar and two pairs of diamond earrings.
